For its tenth season, the Northern New England Repertory Theatre Company (NNE Rep) presents George Bernard Shaw's romantic comedy Arms and the Man on the Sawyer Center stage at Colby-Sawyer College. In this delicious romantic confection, Shaw's barbed wit targets themes of love, honor, and illusions, and serves up laughs aplenty at the foibles of human nature. NNE Rep's production of Arms and the Man will run for seven performances from June 5th through June 14th.

Jeff Meyers*, NNE Rep's Production Stage Manager (PSM) for Arms and the Man, will be the person in charge when the curtain goes up on June 5th. But unlike Oz of storybook fame, this "wizard" of professional theatre is no charlatan. For the past twelve years, Jeff has been engaged full time as a stage manager chiefly in New York City and Maine. Since 2005, he has been the PSM for the summer seasons at The Theater At Monmouth (the Equity Shakespeare theater of Maine), which presents five plays in rotating repertory during the summer, and Jeff has run their four main-stage shows each season.

Jeff was in a play once and writes that he "played the 'Captain' in the Grand Junction, Colorado, high school production of Carousel....then turned to stage management." His New York City highlights began in 2003 when he served as PSM for Adam Rapp's Stone Cold Dead Serious produced by Edge Theater Company. He was the PSM for five other shows with Edge including the Drama Desk nominated Orange Flower Water. Additional NYC credits include Keen Company productions of Stephen Sondheim's Marry Me A Little and Benefactors by Michael Frayn, as well as Greg Kotis' Eat The Taste directed by John Clancy at the Barrow Street Theater and The Mint Theater's production of Earnest Hemingway's The Fifth Column. Off-Broadway credits include work with the Classic Stage Company, The New Group and TACT (The Actors Company Theater).

Evening performances of Arms and the Man begin at 7:30 PM on June 5, 6, 7, & 12, 13, 14, with a matinee on June 8 starting at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $28, with student and group rates available.
