Seacoast Rep's Alternative Theatre Series Hosts RED LIGHT PROM Benefit Tonight

Seacoast Repertory Theatre has announced that their award winning Red Light series will be producing the 1st Annual "Red Light Prom" tonight, May 9th, 2015 8Pm-Midnight. A direct benefit to the theatre's ever popular Red Light series, the Red Light Prom promises to be a night out that patrons will never forget. Blending the elements of a raucous dance party with theater magic, Red Light Prom is more than just another benefit, it's an immersive and fully transformative experience all curated by local seacoast artists and leaders.

"We wanted to create a creative space event that the seacoast has never seen before" says Knate Higgins, special series curator for The Rep. "By combining music, dancing, special effects, and live performance we will have patrons literally asking "did that just happen?!". The prom's theme is "Seize The Cliché" encouraging those attending to dress as if going to their ideal prom. Awards will be given for best outfits, as well a crowning of a Red Light Prom King and Queen. Red Light Prom aims to be "The Prom You never had, but always wanted..."

Red Light Prom is curated by the alternative artists that make up the Red Light series itself, including Back Alley Productions, Dorks in Dungeons Improv, Lady Luck Burlesque, Stranger Than Fiction Improv, and Let's "B" Reel to name a few. "I wanted all the artists who work so hard to make up the Red Light series front and center for this event. The arts community has such a vibrant energy here in Portsmouth, it's always been a goal of mine to host an event where we can all come together, let loose and celebrate with each other" says Higgins.

RED LIGHT PROM: SIEZE THE CLICHÉ runs one night only May 9th at 8pm-12pm. Bar is open at 7:30pm. Advance tickets are $20 Stag, and $30 per couple. Ticketing is limited and due to high demand, advance purchase is recommended.
