The Seacoast Repertory Theatre is pleased to bring to the stage the play that made the movie possible. For the first time in the Seacoast region the Pulitzer Prize winning play, RABBIT HOLE will be on the Rep's mainstage, March 11-April 22. As improbably funny as it is heartbreaking, RABBIT HOLE is a story of a couple who seemingly has it all. Becca (Quetta Carpenter) and Howie (Jeremy Lee Cudd) have the perfect life - a great marriage, a beautiful house, and a lovely son. But after a tragic accident, the couple faces the challenges of surviving the ultimate loss and making a life with the family that remains.

Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RABBIT HOLE by David Lindsay-Albaire balances honesty with humor and tragedy with hope in this moving, five-time Tony Award-nominated play exploring a family's journey to find their way out of darkness after their lives are suddenly --and forever --changed.

Once again the Rep has assembled a stellar cast of performers to tell this powerful story: Quetta Carpenter* (Rebecca), Sarah Tode (Zoe), Jeremy Lee Cudd (Howie), Kathy Somssich (Nat) and Joshua P. Moore (Jason).

Directing the production is the Rep's own Associate Artistic Director Bob Vernon. Bob brings 25 years of theatre experience to the Rep's creative team. He first came to work at the Rep in 1993 and has continued to return as an actor and director for the last 17 years. Most recently, he served as the Director of the Intern Program at Weathervane Theatre. Before that Bob was an assistant Professor at Penn State University where he taught acting and directing. He is an award winning artist with more than 75 directing credits including: Mel Brooks' The Producers, Jesus Christ Superstar (Weathervane), The Seagull (Henley Street Theatre), The Tempest, The Actor's Nightmare (Pennsylvania Centre Stage), Angels in America, The Last Five Years, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Once on This Island, The Lark (Penn State), To Kill a Mockingbird (Seacoast Rep). As an actor, Bob has appeared in more than 100 productions including: Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd (Weathervane), Touchstone in As You Like It, Lt. Schrank in West Side Story, Joe Boyd in Damn Yankees, Lloyd in Noises Off (Seacoast Rep), Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night (Penn State). Bob was one of the founding members of Summer Theatre Ensemble at Children's Studio for the Arts. He believes passionately in the transformative power of creative expression for students and audiences of all ages. Bob holds an MFA in directing from Penn State University.

In addition to assembling a strong cast for this show Vernon has also enlisted the talents of Daniel Robinson (Scenic Designer), Rick Silja (Costume Designer), Bethany Taylor (Lighting Designer), Rachel Neubauer (Sound Designer), Aimee Denise Born (AEA Stage Manager), Lauri Gagnon (Properties Mistress) and BENT Productions (Scenic Fabrication).

RABBIT HOLE promises to be a theatrical experience to remember. So forget about going to the local cinemaplex to see Nicole Kidman...come to the Rep and see where the story began!
