The Palace Theatre is excited to present an original production, Swing Fever, from February 12th - 27th, 2010. Influenced by the hit show Dancing with the Stars, the show features popular dances including Lindy Hop, East Coast, West Coast, Jitterbug and Shag all danced to a wide variety of music from Bobby Darin to Billy Joel.

Written and conceived by the Palace Theatre Artistic Director, Carl Rajotte, Swing Fever features a live band with dancers and accomplished vocalists direct from New York City. Carl Rajotte wanted to create a production based on the distinctive swing style. "Swing is a popular genre that all ages can enjoy and appreciate. This show demonstrates that swing can be danced to all types of music as well, from the 1920s to the contemporary music of today," said Rajotte.

Carl and his artistic team traveled to New York City to audition more than 400 performers for the Swing Fever production, which consists of six vocalists and ten dancers. "It was an exhilarating experience to see such talent come out to meet with us," added Rajotte.

This is Carl Rajotte's seventh season as Artistic Director of the Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series at the Palace Theatre. Recently, Mr. Rajotte directed the highly acclaimed productions of The Producers, The Wedding Singer, A Chorus Line, All Shook Up, Dreamgirls, and The Full Monty. He has also directed the sold out productions of CATS and Grease as well as 42nd Street and the 2005 hit, Chicago. Before coming to Manchester, NH, Mr. Rajotte enjoyed a two-year residency with American Music Theatre, working with such celebrities as Regis Philbin and Kenny Rogers. Some other directing and choreography credits include the national tour of Swing Dance America, the national premiere of Coutry Jukebox, the international premiere of The Main Event performed in the renowned Copa Room at the Sands Resort and Casino, and many reviews at the Tropicana Casino working with such big name acts as Connie Haynes and the Diamonds.
Swing Fever begins February 12th and runs through February 23rd.

Tickets are $15 to $45 depending on seating and child/senior/adult status.
