With 10 days, 80 theatre groups, 33 locations, performance, live art, (music) theatre, dance & uninhibited energy, the Amsterdam Fringe Festival is one of the events of the summer in the Netherlands.

Running from August 30 through September 9, the Amsterdam Fringe Festival takes place in the fringes of the Dutch Theatre Festival, highlighting Amsterdam's avant-garde drama productions.

During the 10 Fringe days, audiences can see works from over 80 theatre groups of unorthodox, national and interNational Theatre directors and artists, at more then 33 different locations spread throughout the city.

There is an extensive ‘Language No Problem’ program, which means shows that are either in English or that make no use of words or language, marked with LNP sign. About 50% of the shows are suitable for non-Dutch speakers.

The many Festival offerings include Aftermath by Groupe Isolée, bringing to life a ghostly play about a young woman who, after losing her beloved, locks herself in her house; Face Off by South Africal native, Ntando Cele, who asks questions about the roles we play, the roles we are put into and masks we choose to wear; Out of My Mind by Nina Willems, a visual essay on The Edge of theatre and neuroscience that explores the limits of the mind; Annemarie Hagenaars The Story of the Einstein Girl, inspired by Philip Sington’s novel The Einstein Girl; Eva Dean Dance’s Uba Bounce direct from the New York Fringe Festival and many more.
