Recording Artist and Multi-award winning Broadway Star Chester Gregory returns to the musical stage as the lead in the revival of "Dreamgirls". "Dreamgirls" tells the rags-to-riches story of an up-and-coming 1960's girl group from Chicago, and the triumphs and tribulations that come with fame and fortune.

Chester Gregory will star as R&B sensation James "Thunder" Early and will share the stage alongside Moya Angela as 'Effie White' and feature, as The Dreams, Syesha Mercado as 'Deena Jones,' Adrienne Warren as 'Lorrell Robinson,' and Margaret Hoffman as 'Michelle Morris' with Chaz Lamar Shepherd as 'Curtis Taylor, Jr.,' Trevon Davis as 'C.C. White' and Milton Craig Nealy as Marty Madison. "Being part of this production means so much to me as it will continue to challenge me to be the best entertainer that I can be," shares Chester. "I am looking forward in sharing the gift of talent with all the fans across the country as we embark on this tour," he adds.

Chester Gregory is no stranger to the stage; an award-winning Broadway performer and acclaimed as one of the most dynamic musical theatre presences in the entertainment business - a young black man in possession of a powerful five octave voice that has elicited high praise from the late Isaac Hayes, a standing ovation from Michael Jackson and inspired Phil Collins to compose a Broadway song custom made for what his God-given instrument can do.

After several years of blowing audiences away on the "Great White Way", playing the lead in the biographical musical "The Jackie Wilson Story", key roles in "Hairspray", "Tarzan", "Cry Baby", and most recently the originator of the "Donkey" role for Dreamworks "SHREK", Chester Gregory has become a veteran of the stage. Gary, Indiana-native Chester Gregory grew up admiring all around entertainers ranging from King of Pop Michael Jackson to triple threat icons Sammy Davis, Jr. and Gregory Hines. Years of dedicated vocal training (surprisingly not in the church) led to a bachelors degree in Musical Theatre at Columbia College in Chicago.

In March 2009, Chester Gregory released his critically acclaimed debut album "In Search of High Love", and introduced himself as a thoughtful and gifted songwriter who's blessed voice captivates and demands attention. The album lead by the classic composition "I Only Have Eyes 4 U", was written by Harry Warren and Al Dubin. Chester added his magical touch and gave the song a different twist. Just this past June, Chester released what is being penned as the Soundtrack to the Summer, " BREAKBEAT KARAOKE". This album is a collection of throwback "breakbeats" from classic hip hop tunes with remixes from songs from the debut album "In Search of High Love", as well as new tracks. The mixtape dubbed as "The Soundtrack to the Summer", is free to all and can be found at www.ChesterGregory.com.

"Dreamgirls" will be directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom with co-choreography by Shane Sparks and is being produced by John Breglio for Vienna Waits Productions. "Dreamgirls" will kick-off at the Apollo Theatre from November 7th - December 6th then will play Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Chicago, Boston, Columbus, Los Angeles, Seattle.
