Samantha Ware who is currently playing Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon is no stranger to the stage. She started her musical career at the young age of 4 where she became a member of her church choir. Samantha was born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska and got a chance to perform in community theater as well as her high school shows. Her first real show was at the age of 8 when she performed in "A Christmas Carol."

When she finished high school, Samantha started going to school to be a music teacher while minoring in journalism. But dreams of the stage kept calling to her and she left school to audition for THE LION KING. She booked it and never went back to school.

Nabulungi is part of the village where Elder Cunningham goes to teach. Samantha says of young Nabulungi, "She's very young, naive, free spirited and very gullible. Elder Cunningham comes to the village and persuades her to believe she is going to this paradise called Salt Lake City and she is going to find her own paradise and get away from the disease and famine."

Samantha has been with The Book of Mormon tour for 14 months and has loved many aspects of being able to travel. "I love going to museums and monuments. I'm still learning to pack light. But, I'm making my way (and love) the people that I get to meet."

BOOK OF MORMON comes to Austin from today, October 1-13, 2013. Tickets are available by going to the Texas Performing Arts website.
