On July 5th I had the esteemed pleasure to go backstage with the production staff of Wicked national tour to talk with members of the production staff and watch how they transform the Hobby Center to the magical land of OZ. I also had the pleasure to speak one on one with David O'Brien who serves as the Production Stage Manager. This was definitely a great opportunity for our BWW readers to see what goes on behind the scenes of a hit Broadway national tour.

Walking into the theatre the technicians were well at work. The sounds of drills, hammers and techie talk was rampant throughout Sarofim Hall. It's amazing to see how a huge spectacle musical can travel from city to city and be up and running for an audience in just 3 days. We are often enamored with the actual show but to see this side of production was just as exciting as watching Elphie fly. I want to thank the staff at the Hobby Center as well as the magical folk at Wicked for allowing cameras and an opportunity to talk with the production staff. WICKED runs July 6-August 14, 2016 at the Hobby Center and tickets can be purchased at BroadwayAtTheHobbyCenter.com or TheHobbyCenter.org. Defy the summer heat and catch the hottest ticket in Houston! See you at the theatre!
