Music Valley Event Center continues its recently launched "After Dark" series of shows with Jeff Goode's The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, starring eight actors as Santa's reindeer dishing about "the real Kris Kringle." The Eight runs November 26-December 17.

Are all the rumors you've heard about him and the elves true - and what is Rudolph's "little secret"? And what about Vixen's story that was leaked to the press? The bucks and the does tell their side of the titillating tales...and it's not always pretty.

Directed by Nashville theater regulars Zach Parker and Angela Gimlin, this late night offering at Music Valley Event Center includes a cadre of Nashville's best and brightest performers.

"I think people are going to be impressed, but also a bit shocked about this very non-traditional telling of Santa and his eight tiny reindeer," says Gimlin, who makes her directorial debut with this production.

Previously, Gimlin has spent the last ten years acting, and thinks The Eight: Reindeer Monologues is fitting vehicle for her directorial debut. "I have Zach, who has directed before, to tell me what to do and when I am messing up."

With Parker taking the role of the flamboyant Cupid and Gimlin portraying the saucy Vixen, the cast also includes Andrea Michelle Crowe as unwavering Blitzen, Austin Jeffrey Smith playing Dasher (the leader), Michael Rex as the loyal to a fault Comet, David Williams in the heartbreaking role of Donner, Kathryn Sutton as rattled reindeer Dancer and Matt Smith as the arrogant "Hollywood" (Prancer).

The show, which is recommended for audiences 18 and up, opens November 26 and plays every Friday and Saturday night at Music Valley Event Center through December 17. Doors open at 10 p.m., with curtain at 10:30 p.m. Beer, wine and snacks will be available for purchase; dinners are not offered.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased by calling Music Valley Event Center at (615) 902-9566; tickets are also available at the door. Music Valley Event Center is located at 2416 Music Valley Drive, Suite 150. Opryland seasonal traffic is heavy, so patrons are advised to allow extra travel time.
