Pipeline-Collective presents the final production of its inaugural season - the Nashville premiere of Brilliant Traces, a two-person play by Cindy Lou Johnson, directed by frequent Pipeline collaborator Laramie Hearn and starring Amanda Card and Taylor Novak - at Belmont Little Theatre on the Belmont University campus June 16-18.

In the middle of a blizzard, a young woman appears at a remote cabin in the Alaskan wilderness wearing a tattered wedding dress and satin shoes. Rosannah and Henry, the cabin's reclusive owner, get more than they bargained for - but maybe just what they need - in drama, described as "funny and compelling."

According to the New York Times: "Ms. Johnson has spun an alternately comic and anguished fable about contemporary men and women who run away from home."

"This play is a beautiful look at the heart: its complexities, irrationalities, and its yearning to reach out to other hearts regardless of circumstance and no matter the cost," says director Laramie Hearn. "It's also a reminder: sometimes the thing we need the most is just the thing we weren't looking for."

Brilliant Tracers premiered in 1989 at New York's Cherry Lane Theatre in a Circle Repertory Company production. This will be its first full production in Nashville.

"One of the best parts of producing is getting to work with great people to tell thought-provoking stories," says Karen Sternberg, Pipeline producer and founding member. "Laramie Hearn worked with us throughout our first season, and she's a whip-smart director. I've seen Amanda Card show a tremendous range in her work at the Nashville Repertory Theatre and the Nashville Children's Theatre. She's a supernova in this town. And I had the good fortune to watch Taylor Novak's astonishing work, from rehearsal through performance, in Studio Tenn's The Elephant Man. With these three collaborating on this beautiful play, I can't wait to share this show with Nashville!"

Brilliant Traces is being presented under the auspices of the Actors' Equity Association Members' Project Code. Founding Members of Pipeline-Collective include Lauren Berst, David Ian Lee, Karen Sternberg, and Cheryl White.

Performances are set for June 16, 17, and 18 at 7:30 p.m.in the Belmont Little Theatre on the Belmont University Campus. All tickets will be $10. For reservations or more information, visit www.pipeline-collective.com.
