Nashville Symphony has announced their November lineup of events, kicking off with Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto SunTrust Classical Series.

Karen Gomyo has captivated audiences all over the world with her passionate performance style, and Tchaikovsky's lovely and lyrical Violin Concerto is the ideal showcase for her talents. Ravel called his score for the ballet Daphnis et Chloé "a vast musical fresco," and he brings this ancient Greek tale to life with music of incredible richness, color and vibrancy.

Presented by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra League, our free Classical Conversations take place in the Schermerhorn's Balcony Lobby one hour before all SunTrust Classical Series concerts. Drumline Live

Tuesday, November 8, at 7 p.m.

Prepare to be amazed. This show-stopping spectacle brings the explosive energy and athleticism of American marching bands to the Schermerhorn stage. Trained in marching band programs across the South, the versatile cast of Drumline Live combines dazzling choreography with the sounds of contemporary hip-hop, R&B, classic Motown and the rousing brass band tradition.

Be among the exclusive first to hear a world premiere by Richard Danielpour, whose music is visceral, romantic and distinctly American. Darkness in the Ancient Valley will feature the gorgeous voice of soprano Hila Plitmann, who will draw out all of the emotion at the heart of this piece. Giancarlo Guerrero continues our quest to be among the few orchestras to perform all of Mahler's symphonies with the Austrian composer's Fourth, a more intimate yet dazzling Mahler masterpiece. This concert will be recorded for future release.

Kings of Salsa
Special Event

Tuesday, November 22, at 7 p.m.

This stunning stage extravaganza pays homage to Cuba's greatest performers and dance styles, with a cool, contemporary modern twist. Some of the island's finest dancers will perform an intoxicating mix of salsa, hip-hop, mambo, rumba and other classic Cuban moves. Featuring the spectacular nine-piece band Cuba Ashire, Kings of Salsa showcases a slice of Cuba never seen before onstage.
