About Nashville Dance Congress
The Nashville Dance Congress, aka Nashville Salsa Congress, is a nonprofit 501(c)3 with the mission to provide dance enthusiasts, regardless of their economic status, access to world champion, world-class and legendary dance performers, instructors, and musicians through live presentations and instruction in an atmosphere promoting ethnic diversity, social tolerance and equality. "I started hosting free dance classes almost seven years ago, because I was too broke to take dance lessons," notes Tonya Miller, President of the Nashville Dance Congress. "I got creative and figured out that if I could organize a free venue, teach whatever I knew for free and grow an audience, then other teachers would come share their dance love. That spark has grown into a massive blaze. This enormous endeavor began with our close-knit Salsa dance community and thankfully, the other dance communities accepted our invitation. Now, we'll reap the rewards of our combined efforts for the very first time in a world-class event." For more information, visit www.nashvilledancecongress.com.
