The Boiler Room Theatre, Williamson County's original and longest-running professional theatre company, will stage Dumb and Dumber star Jeff Daniels' hilarious comedy, Escanaba in da Moonlight. The production will run from May 31st through June 15th at the theatre's iconic namesake venue in the historic Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Rd., Building Six, in Franklin, Tennessee.

In this hilarious sendup of Michigan's Upper Peninsula "Yooper" culture, Escanaba in da Moonlight joins the Soady clan as they reunite for opening day of deer season at the family's camp in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. At thirty-five years old, Reuben Soady (John Mauldin) is the oldest Soady in history to have never "bagged a buck." Along with his father (Scott Stewart), brother (Andrew Derminio) and buddy, "Jimmer" (Douglas Goodman), Reuben will go to any length to get over his nerves and shoot his first deer - with some definitely unexpected results. Escanaba in da Moonlight is a tall tale full of humor, heart and moonshine strong enough to peel paint.

Although best known for his roles on screen, most recently on HBO's The Newsroom and in the film Looper, Jeff Daniels is also a successful playwright who has written 15 plays for The Purple Rose Theatre, a non-profit theatre company which he founded in Chelsea, MI. Escanaba in da Moonlight was also made into a movie in 2001.

"This show is nothing but fun," says Corbin Green, BRT Managing Director. "It has the buddy relationships of The Hangover, the physical comedy of Dumb and Dumber and the accents from Fargo... with a little X-Files thrown in." There's also a good bit of Michigan humor - an extra treat for any Nashville transplants who grew up on Mackinac Island Fudge and believe Euchre is the greatest card game in the world.

In addition to Mauldin, Stewart, Derminio and Goodman, the cast includes Scott Rice and, on alternating nights, Vicki White Levy and Neely Green. Lisa Gillespie, director of the Boiler Room Theatre's smash hit production of Steel Magnolias, returns to direct this buddy comedy.

Performances will be held every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evening during the run at 8 p.m. There will also be a discount Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on June 2 and a "Thrifty Thursday" show at 8 p.m. on June 13. Regular ticket prices are $27 for adults, $25 for seniors (age 60 and up) and students (age 13 through college with valid ID), and $21 for children ages 3 through 12. Matinee prices are $2 less respectively. Thrifty Thursday prices are $17 each. All Tuesday shows are two-for-one ($27 for two tickets; no other discounts apply). Tickets may be purchased by calling the Boiler Room Theatre at 615-794-7744 or ordered online at www.boilerroomtheatre.com.

Following Escanaba in da Moonlight, the 2013 Season will continue with Promises Promises, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Producers and Scrooge, the Musical. Season tickets may be purchased by contacting the BRT Box Office.
