A star is born! BUYER & CELLAR, an outrageous new comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things and the oddest of odd jobs, takes the stage of the Roxy Regional Theatre's theotherspace for four evenings only, November 9 - November 17.

Ryan Bowie stars as struggling actor Alex More in this hilarious one-man show. Desperate for work after being fired from his job as the Mayor of Toontown character at Disneyland, Alex takes a job working in the Malibu basement of Barbra Streisand ... and one day the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like real bonding in the basement, but will their relationship ever make it upstairs?

Part truth and part fiction, BUYER & CELLAR was inspired by Barbra Streisand's 2010 book My Passion for Design, which details the shopping mall installed in the basement of the megastar's Malibu home, complete with a doll shop, an antique clothing store, a sweets shop and more. Author Jonathan Tolins ran with the idea, and director Tom Thayer now brings the fruits of Tolins' imagination to theotherspace stage.

On Saturday, November 10, the theatre will partner with MB Roland Distillery and Nicoletta's Catering for a special cocktail class and show experience. The evening will begin at 6:00pm with demonstrations and samples of a BLT Martini, an Arnold Palmer Martini, a Pancakes and Bacon Martini, and a Cinnamon Frappe Martini, paired with delicious hors d'oeuvres including Deviled Eggs with Lump Crab Hollandaise, Pimento Cheese Stuffed Peppadew Peppers, Maple Balsamic Pork Tenderloin, Spiced Sweet Potatoes and Tiramisu Cheesecake. The evening will culminate in the 7:00pm performance of BUYER & CELLAR. Tickets are $50.

BUYER & CELLAR is presented in theotherspace, the 50-seat black-box theatre located upstairs at the Roxy, and plays at 7:00pm on November 9, 16 and 17. Due to language and content, this production is recommended for mature audiences only.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at (931) 645-7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to curtain).
