Wayne Kirkpatrick - the award-winning, chart-topping songwriter, one of the co-creators of the Tony Award-winning Something Rotten on Broadway, and the recipient of a special 2015 First Night Honor - will be in the spotlight Thursday night, February 4, at Lipscomb University during An Awkward Conversation With Wayne Kirkpatrick.

Steve Taylor hosts the event, which will feature special guests, music and "uncomfortable silences" as Kirkpatrick takes the stage to talk about his wide-ranging career-which has included a Grammy Award for Eric Clapton's "Change the World," a ton of other hits and the smashing success of Something Rotten. The event gets under way at 7:30 p.m. at Lipscomb University's Shamblin Theatre.

"We're going to talk about his music career, Something Rotten and everything else," says Scott Baker, Director of Marketing and Community Outreach for the College of Entertainment and the Arts at Lipscomb. "We've got a very special (and secret) guest lined up to appear, and the evening should be pretty fun."

The event is free and open to the public.
