With more than 60 full scaled theatrical productions in the past 9 years, Act Too Players has expanded its offerings to include acting, production, and dance classes. Our program is grounded in the belief that theatre skills are worthwhile, valuable life skills. For children and teens, these classes, camps, and workshops open doors to imagination and self-confidence while holding fast to the discipline and work ethic that is crucial for any craft. The Act Too Players and The Boiler Room Theatre have been hosting Summer Camps together for the past 9 years. The partnership has been formed to provide students the best theatrical experience in Williamson County. Every student gets the opportunity to rehearse with the best directors, musical directors, and technical staff. Our goal is to instruct your child on the art of theatre while providing a fun, safe, environment. To Celebrate Act Too Player's 10th Anniversary, we are offering two musical theatre intensives in which will undertake two different musicals and mount them in a fully produced musical. Les Miserables is one selection for the summer. Originally adapted from Victor Hugos timeless novel, LES MISÉRABLES SCHOOL EDITION introduces a new generation to the grand and inspirational story that has touched the hearts of millions. For, within LES MISÉRABLES SCHOOL EDITION lies the universal truth To love another person is to see the face of God.

Broadway's legendary musical has been specially adapted to meet the needs of young performers. This author-approved edition has been abridged to a running time of just over two hours, while carefully maintaining the integrity of one the greatest musicals ever written.

This epic story recounts the struggle against adversity in 19th century France. Imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread, petty thief Jean Valjean is released from his 19-year term and not only becomes and honest man, but the mayor of a prosperous town and a loving adoptive father - violating his parole in the process. The relentless Inspector Javert, who makes a decent life for Valjean impossible, consequently pursues him. Only years later, after Valjean proves his mettle during a bloody student uprising and saves the life of a young man hopelessly in love with Valjean's adopted daughter, does the ex-convict finally feel fully redeemed.

Act Too Players has seen great growth in numbers since our move to the Factory at Franklin with this growth has come both increased interest in semester classes but also with our Summer Camps. This summer we had two different summer intensive groups. One choice was the world famous CATS! Based on the universally popular poetry of T.S. Eliot, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. The high demand of youths ages 7-18 that wanted to be involved in Les Miserable resulted in the need to have 2 completely separate casts. Program Founder and Show Director Sondra Morton stated that, "Working with 2 different casts has proven to be a great opportunity to challenge the teens into stretching beyond what they know and assume about this musical and time period. This type of show has provided me with the opportunity to teach the kids about a different culture, oppression, and integrity within the context of the show. See the website for show details.
