A Night at the Stone Burlesk comes to Nashville's Belcourt Theater tonight, June 22 at 10:30 p.m.

Not many people expect to find a massive collection of vintage pornography in their grandparent's basement, but that's just what happened to Matthew Jacobson in 2004 when his grandfather Milton - who spent much of his life running the Stone Burlesk theater in Detroit - bequeathed him with all that he had saved from his days in the theater. Thanks to grandpa's pack rat propensity, Jacobson found himself with several thousand 16mm vintage erotic films featuring pin-up girls, burlesque performers, and racy vignettes ranging from the 1940s to the 1970s.

From the Depression era until it burned to the ground in the nineties, the Stone Burlesk was Detroit’s most infamous burlesque theater. The original production A Night At The Stone Burlesk paints an authentic picture of what the Stone Burlesk was likeduring it’s heyday with a screening of a choice selection of spicy 16mm film clips, real live Burlesque dancers, bawdy contests, mind-reading, belly dancing, roving magicians, racy prizes, sultry cigarette girls, and more. Patrons will enter a world in which vaudeville meets vintage erogeneity in this highly original production MC'd by Matthew Jacobson and inspired by the theater his grandfather ran for 50 years.

Featuring live dancers Lux-O-Matic, Freya West, and Rose Hips from Nashville's own Music City Burlseque; 16mm films from the original Stone Burlesk theater edited by filmmaker Leigh Jurecka to a soundtrack curated by Rob Sevier of the Numero Group and authentic reel-to-reel tapes and records from inside the original Stone Burlesk.

Patrons are encouraged to bring produce and participate onstage for a chance to win exciting prizes generously donated by local vendors including Burger Up, Early to Bed, Isle of Printing, Parlour & Juke, and Katy K, as well as letterpress girlie prints from Detroit-based Signal Return and a limited edition item from Third Man Records.

Proceeds will go toward the production of the documentary film "A Night At The Stone Burlesk," directed by Leigh Jurecka.

Tickets are $20 Advance Purchase / $25 Door and are available at the Belcourt box office or online at: belcourt.org.
