This fall, Jaren J. Hampton returns to the stage with his second production, and brand new play "A House Divided". Set to take place at the Poag Theater on the campus of Tennessee State University. This is Hampton's second production that he has written, acted in, produced and directed. His first, ("Family Ties"), premiered back in February of this year, and debuted to a sold out audience on opening night.

"A House Divided," follows Brian Jones who was just recently laid off from his high paying position in Chicago, and was forced to move both he and his family to Nashville to live with his estranged father and senile Aunt until he is able to get back on his feet. The play follows the drama that the family goes through in this difficult time in life, but also promises to provide comedy as well. "I think over the past few years the way that the economy has been, this is something that a lot of people would be able to relate to, and if they themselves haven't experienced this, or something similar to it, they may know someone who has," says Hampton.

"The element of surprise is one of the number one sellers in entertainment and one that I'm a big fan of, and you're sure to get your fair share of surprises and memorable moments in this play. If you love drama, this is for you, if you love laughing, this is for you and if you love surprises, this is definitely for you!" assures Hampton. The cast has been working on this play since July and all are anxious for its debut, and promise that it will be one you will not want to miss.

"Two plays in one year is definitely hard work, but when its truly what you love to do, it's hardly work", says Hampton, who is already hard at work on his third stage play, set to debut in Spring of 2015.

"A House Divided" premieres Saturday, October 25th at 6:30pm. Doors will open at 5:30pm. Tickets are on sale now and are $15.00 in Advance and $20 at the Door.
