Tony Loffreda to Return as Chair of Centaur Theatre Fundraising Gala
Centaur Theatre Company is pleased to announce that Tony Loffreda, RBC's Regional Vice-President of Commercial and Financial Services for Western Quebec, will return as Honourary Chair of Centaur's Annual Fundraising Gala for the third year in a row.
Mr. Loffreda has worked in the business community and the financial services industry since 1984. He has a CPA from the University of Illinois. He also sits on RBC Quebec's Executive Committee, HR and donations committees along with RBC's National Real Estate Capital Commitments Committee. Mr. Loffreda is very active in the community and has taken on many leadership roles over the years. He is a recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Award.
This year marks the landmark tenth anniversary of Centaur's Fundraising Gala. Since its inception, this event has raised over $1 million and each year brings together supporters of the performing arts for a memorable evening that showcases the joy of live theatre and performance. In 2014, the Gala will be held on Tuesday, September 30th in Centaur's elegant theatre and Seagram Gallery, located in Montreal's historic former stock exchange building.
In 2013, Centaur hosted its most successful Gala yet, raising a record-breaking $230,000 in funds which are being used to support the theatre company's professional English-Language productions as well as various youth, educational and community outreach programs. Centaur employs hundreds of local artists and theatre professionals every year and plays a vital role in Montreal's cultural community. Supporters of this important event ensure that Centaur remains a leading cultural institution.
Montreal's flagship English-language theatre company, Centaur Theatre is currently in its 45th Season of exciting theatre productions. The St. Léonard Chronicles, a brand-new comedy by Steve Galluccio, closed its doors in December after having been extended three times. Last week, Centaur opened the Canadian Premiere of Amy Herzog's 4000 Miles, to great acclaim. And after nearly 4,000 performances in 200 cities to approximately 2 million people worldwide, the international smash hit 2 Pianos 4 Hands will close Centaur's 2013/2014 Season.
