The University of Montana School of Theatre & Dance is pleased to offer The Arabian Nights, an ambitious collection of ancient stories from the Middle East as reimagined by one of today's most provocative theatre artists. The Arabian Nights runs in the Masquer Theatre of the Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center on campus tonight, October 2-6 and 9-13 at 7:30 p.m.

Poetic, stylized, erotic, and funny, this exuberantly theatrical twist on the ancient legend of Scheherazade and King Shahryar brings action, mystery, and romance to life in vivid and unique ways. In order to avoid being killed by her new husband, the distraught and distracted King, Scheherazade regales him night after night with tales brimming with every facet of emotion and the best and worst of human nature. The audience will be drawn into Scheherazade's stories as raptly as Shahryar is-resulting in a powerful ode to the riches that can be mined from narrative tradition.
