Woodbury Community Theatre Announces Spring Auditions

Woodbury Community Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for our two upcoming shows in March 2011. Auditions are open format; you can come anytime during the scheduled time period and you will audition in order of arrival. Please bring a photograph of yourself (casual is fine; professional headshots not needed), and come with your calendars, prepared to list schedule conflicts.

An Irish Journey
Lenore Weir will direct "An Irish Journey," a musical revue that will be performed on March 18 and 19 at the historic James J. Hill House on 240 Summit Avenue in St. Paul. We will need six to eight adult women and the same number of men who are adept singing 4 part harmony. Auditions will be held on January 13 and 14 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Woodbury Baptist Church, 6695 Upper Afton Road, Woodbury, MN 55125. Please bring your own music and be prepared with an up tempo song. Rehearsals will run from February 15 thru March 17, and cast members should plan on rehearsing 2 or 3 nights per week until final week.

Cheaper by the Dozen
Shawn McWhorter will direct "Cheaper by the Dozen", a musical comedy in two acts, to be performed at The Loft Stage in Woodbury on March 26, 27 and April 1 and 2. Auditions will be held on January 24 and 25 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Woodbury Baptist Church, 6695 Upper Afton Road, Woodbury, MN 55125. Call backs will be Thursday January 27 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm if needed, with rehearsals beginning on January 31. All those wishing to audition should be prepared to sing a short up tempo song (16-32 measures) and should be prepared for movement and reading from the script. The total cast size is 23, with 17 speaking roles and a small teen/adult chorus.
Age ranges needed are 7-18 for the children, plus 3 adult roles.
