If it's January, it must be time for Lorna Landvik's PARTY IN THE REC ROOM. Sold out for its last four runs, this show is unlike any other as it is the only one-person improvised comedy bash in the entire known universe (performed by a nationally-known author, that is)! Lorna brings back her perennially popular PARTY IN THE REC ROOM for 7 performances at the Bryant Lake Bowl, 810 W. Lake St., Minneapolis, weekends through January 28.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Party in the Rec Room promises a fresh cast of characters at every fiesta. Each performance is made up on the spot, every night! (Although due to audience demand, there is a recurring hillbilly….)  And just as fitting to the rec room party theme are Lorna's show-opening margaritas, which she blends on stage to add to the merriment.

Recently named one of Twin Cities Business' "200 Minnesotans You Should Know," Lorna is known nationally as the author of eight novels including PATTY JANE'S HOUSE OF CURL, ANGRY HOUSEWIVES EATING BON BONS and in 2010, 'TIS THE SEASON.  Local audiences also know her as an actor.  A former member of Dudley Riggs, Landvik has appeared in Theater 911's BAD SEED, in Joel Sass' Mary Worth Theater (VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, LUNATIC CELLMATES and WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?) and in several shows she wrote and performed at the Bryant Lake Bowl (GLAMOUR QUEEN, AND THE WINNER IS…, THE SMELT PRINCESS and A STINKHOLE CHRISTMAS).

For several years, she has jumped into the thrills of solo improvisation in MY BACKYARD PARTY and PARTY IN THE REC ROOM, where it's a new show every night.
