Shipwrecked: An Entertainment, a family-friendly production, opened Friday, June 30th at 7:30 p.m. as a part of Great River Shakespeare Festival's (Winona, MN) 14th season.

Shipwrecked tells the tale of Louis de Rougemont, an adventurous soul who invites you to hear his amazing story of bravery, survival, and celebrity that springs to life like a theatrical pop-up book. Children and adults alike will blown away by this fantastical true story based on an untrue story.

Great River Shakespeare Festival (GRSF), now in its fourteenth season, will be producing four professional plays for the first time since its inception. Previously only producing two to three professional productions per year, the addition of a fourth has inspired GRSF to introduce a family-friendly play in the company of their regular Shakespearean productions. Shipwrecked: An Entertainment set sail June 30th at 7:30 pm and runs through July 29th.

"The Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies scampers to the defense of good old-fashioned yarn spinning with SHIPWRECKED. The breathless story of a Victorian gentleman [and] seafaring wanderer springs to life like a theatrical pop-up book... [in a] kid-friendly comedy. The audience is left to judge whether he is an inspirational figure touched by imaginative genius or a mere con man. We can also consider the possibility that the hero of this true story based on an untrue story is a little of each." (Charles Isherwood, NY Times)

For tickets and more information for Season 14, please contact the GRSF Box Office at 79 E. Third St, Winona, MN, or call 507-474-7900 with any questions. Patrons can purchase standard tickets to all GRSF performances over the phone, in person, or online at grsf.org.
