Children's Castle Theater, a youth focused, inter-generational 501(c)(3) theater organization with a mission of Education, Experience and Entertainment, announces its fall production of "Billy Elliot - The Musical," running October 14 through 23, 2016 at Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville, MN 55044.

The show, set against the background of the 1984 England miners strike, features 10 Tony award nominations and music by Elton John. Billy Elliot is about more than dance, music and acting. The production also serves as a judgment-free means for youth and adults to experience and contemplate what it means to live in today's society and to realize what is possible if we believe in both ourselves and in each other to discover our strengths, create friendships and unite as a community to create a better place to live.

With a ticket price of only $15 / $10 (age 60+), "Billy Elliot - The Musical" at Lakeville Area Arts Center is an affordable entertainment option that's suitable for children 10+. Parental guidance is suggested due to mild language and mature subject matter.

"This show is a big undertaking, and we're excited to produce it for the Minneapolis area," said CCT Director Kayla Yaeger. "Bringing this story to life is only possible with the help of Ballet Royale Minnesota and other local choreographers," she notes.

"We have a really strong cast, including a handful of actors who've been on stage with local community and professional theaters such as Minneapolis-based Children's Theater Company, Guthrie Theater, Eagan Community Theater and Old Log in Excelsior.

Because many of our cast members have performed together at Children's Castle Theatre for several years, those relationships shine through in their chemistry on stage, " said Yaeger.

This production is funded in part by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State's general fund through the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council.

Children's Castle Theater (CCT) is proud to have been serving the Dakota County community for 20+ years. As a community children's theater, CCT works to provide quality theater experiences for kids and adults. This means that CCT acts as a community theater for residents of Farmington, Lakeville, Rosemount, Apple Valley, Burnsville, Shakopee and surrounding communities. Although we are currently a community theater performing at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, we are also know as the longest running children's theater in Farmington. CCT believes the plays are what allow children to have fun and learn while putting on quality productions for family and friends. Although CCT considers itself a community theater opportunity for kids, we also provide community theater for high school students and adults in surrounding communities.
