Milwaukee Repertory Theater begins the 2017/18 Season with Souvenir, a charming musical comedy beginning performances September 8 - November 5 in the Stackner Cabaret.

Directed by Milwaukee Native Laura Braza (Grounded), Souvenir stars Marguerite Willbanks (Broadway's Beauty and the Beast) as Florence Foster Jenkins and Jack Forbes Wilson (Liberace!) as Cosmé McMoon.

Souvenir is a story of eccentric Manhattan socialite Florence Foster Jenkins who once declared, "people may say I can't sing, but no one ever said I didn't sing." And, oh, did she sing - often and loudly, but rarely on key. Her recitals brought her a legion of die-hard fans, and she capped her improbable career with a Carnegie Hall concert that famously sold out in two hours. Her story was recently told in an Oscar-nominated film starring Meryl Streep.

Souvenir features music direction by Jack Forbes Wilson (Liberace!), set design by Lauren Nigri (Raven Theatre's Betrayal), costume design by Jason Orlenko (Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill), lighting design by Ellie Rabinowitz (Bratton Theater's Close Up Space) and sound design by Zack Berinstein (Skylight's La Cage).

Souvenir begins performances September 8 and runs through November 5, 2017 in the Stackner Cabaret. Tickets can be purchased online at www.MilwaukeeRep.com, by phone at 414-224-9490 or in person at the Ticket Office (108 E. Wells Street). Access Services: Audio-Described Performance: Sunday, September 17, 7:00pm.
