Milwaukee Repertory Theater Hosts First Associate Artists Gathering
The first gathering of Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Associate Artists happened on Friday, September 28, 2012 at The Rep's Administrative Offices. 18 of the 19 Artistic Associates either attended in person or attended via teleconference. The gathering was to discuss the future of The Rep as well as the responsibilities of this newly-formed group of theater professionals.
Initial plans for the Associate Artists are that they will help participate in choosing plays that The Rep produces, as well as advise on other initiatives. They will also contribute to the work seen on all Rep stages, read scripts, engage in education projects and serve as advocates for The Rep in their home communities across the nation.
With this new creative initiative, The Rep has expanded its Artistic Family. Building upon the indelible legacy of The Rep's Acting Company, this New Group now includes directors, writers, designers, musicians and actors.
