True to its mission of nurturing local theatre artists, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) presents the Montgomery Davis Play Development Series staged reading of WAITING, by Madison-based playwright Kimberly Megna Yarnall tonight, October 14, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

In WAITING, Crystal and John are married professionals who shop at REI, and sometimes eat canned soup because it's easier. They also can't get pregnant. Victor and Darla guide the audience along on Crystal and John's quest for a baby, often playing the other characters Crystal and John encounter: fertility doctors, nosy colleagues, overly-friendly dentists. It's a story about wanting something and having to wait for it, and how to negotiate life in the interim.

Neal Easterling makes his MCT debut directing the new work featuring Kelly Coffey, Sarah Day, Michael Herold and Michael Kroeker. Sarah Day returns to MCT after appearing in main stage productions COLLECTED STORIES, A THOUSAND WORDS and MADAME DE SADE and a staged reading of THE DESERT QUEEN. Michael Herold has performed in MCT's MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS, A SLEEP OF PRISONERS, HOMEBODY/KABUL and THE BIBLE among others. Michael Kroeker returns after appearing in A SLEEP OF PRISONERS and Kelly Coffey is making her MCT debut.

WAITING will be performed on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Skylight Bar & Bistro, located on the second level of the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. Tickets for the reading are Pay-What-You-Can at the door. Seating is first-come, first-served.

The Skylight Bar & Bistro, operated by Indulge Wine Room, will be open for dinner and refreshments starting at 5:30 pm. Dinner reservations welcomed in advance by emailing skylight@getindulge.com or calling 414.291.3773.
