On Tuesday, March 22 at 8 p.m. Jury's Irish Cabaret, Ireland's longest-running show, is celebrating traditional Irish and modern trends in entertainment at the Van Wezel.

Back in the early sixties when the jet age was beginning to have its effect on international travel, Jury's Hotel found itself with many overseas visitors to entertain, and thus Jury's Irish Cabaret was born. Jury's featured the country's top artists and quickly gained notoriety. The show has now entertained two and a half million people at its home in Dublin and across Ireland. Since 1978, it has undertaken 10 coast-to-coast tours of the United States and Canada playing to packed houses, including famed Carnegie Hall in New York, and performing before an estimated 1.2 million people. Over the years, the show has featured many established stars and has proved to be a launching pad for young artists. Among the fine voices have been those of John McNally, Michael O'Dea, Patricia Cahill, Mary O'Hara and well-known recording artist Tony Kenny.

Tony Kenny is an icon in the world of Irish music, having added three of the Irish music industry's most prestigious awards to his resume: the "Performing Artists Trust Society Annual Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Performing Arts", Ireland's 1998 "Entertainer of the Year" and "Ireland's Industry Music Hall of Fame Award," received in October of 2008.Tony began his career as the star of the internationally acclaimed stage musicals, "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." After receiving awards for his stage and television performances, Tony turned his beautiful voice and theatrical talent to the world of Irish music when he joined the cast of the world famous Jury's Irish Cabaret in Dublin, which won Ireland's National Entertainment Awards' "Show of the Year" honors.

Jury's Irish Cabaret is a full theatrical production, consisting of more than two hours of traditional and contemporary music, song, dance, and laughter, and Tony's powerfully expressive delivery and his dynamic stage presence, creates magic. Emerging new trends in Irish music are incorporated to bring together the very best of traditional Irish & modern entertainment while providing an authentic flavor of Irish life.
