Broadway legends Tom Jones (The Fantasticks, I Do!, I Do! ) and Nancy Ford (I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road) are bringing a sneak preview concert version of a new musical, "The Game of Love", to South Florida tonight and tomorrow, April 5 and 6 at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables. Jones will direct, with Ford supervising the music.

It will feature Broadway star, Jeff Kready (fresh from A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), award-winning Chicago theatre veteran James Harms, and talented students from the University of Miami's vaunted musical theatre program.

A musical as delightful as a glass of champagne and as sensuous as a Parisian rendezvous, Jones and Ford first began work on The Game of Love way back in 1965. It has gone through several incarnations. Jones is very excited that it is finally coming to full fruition and has high hopes for New York production in the near future.

Based on the Anatol plays of Arthur Schnitzler and the music of JaquesOffenbach, the story takes place in the years leading up to WW1, follows the romantic yearnings and comedic exploits of Anatol (Kready) over the course of thirty years as he grows and changes along with the world.

This is the first offering of University of Miami's Myrna B. and Sheldon Palley New Theatre Initiative, which brings the best American theatre artists together with UM's talented students to develop new work for local audiences. This sneak preview is produced in unique partnership between UM's Theatre Department and The Actors' Playhouse of Coral Gables. While in residence, Jones and Ford will also provide master classes for UM Students.

Tickets are $15. There are also VIP tickets available on April 5 for $45, which includes a reserved seating section and a post-show champagne toast. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Miracle Theatre Box Office at (305) 444-9293 or go to tickets.actorsplayhouse.org.
