The Playgroup, LLC is proud to present the second production of its second season at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, GOOD MOURNING, written by Steve Waverly and directed by Joyce Sweeney. Somewhere between denial and anger....there's comedy.

Mildly neurotic writer Scott Newton hates therapy. He tried it once, it didn't work. But now his problems have become overwhelming and the worst of it is his mother, who used to help him through everything, is dying. In desperation he turns to a new therapist, who is literally a NEW therapist - just got her license three weeks ago. Everything about her annoys Scott, from her lack of a couch, to her 'endorphin therapy', to her unprofessional penchant for hugging. He is so outta there. But when the worst happens and his mother does pass away...why does he come back?

A native of Los Angeles currently living in Miami, playwright Steve Waverly followed a well-worn literary path to Paris, France, where he lived for several years. Fluent in French, Steve worked in Paris as an advertising copywriter for the prestigious advertising agency, Young & Rubicam, and later as an awardwinning copywriter for HDM advertising in Brussels, Belgium. Steve has written for television, film, and the theater. He wrote an award-winning short film, THE INGRATE, starring Kathy Bates and Andrea Di Stefano, and has sold television shows to NBC/Universal, Sony Studios, and Fox TV Studios, among others. As a playwright his comedy, DOWN IN FRONT, was performed at The Lounge Theater in Hollywood, California, as part of The Hollywood Fringe Festival and was nominated for Best of Fringe.
