Richard Waits stars in Miami's new sensationally sensuous musical phenomenon, ORCHID, which is the huge, multi-dimensional show at the heart of Miami's newest destination point called The Pleasure Garden that has been erected at the gateway to the Miami Design District.

A contemporary throwback to the "pleasure gardens" of the 19th century, The Pleasure Garden fuses design, high fashion, performance art, music and imaginative culinary creations.

ORCHID, a seductive experience which mixes song, dance, burlesque, aerial acrobatics and variety arts is at the center of this 21st Century Moulin Rouge.

Richard Waits is at the center of ORCHID. He plays the Master Gardner; the spinner of dreams; the architect of breathtaking beauty; the maestro of intoxication and the creator of ORCHID his piece de resistance, the most beautiful creature on earth and the envy of anyone, human or otherwise, that comes within her innocent radius.

Waits borrowed from the decadent and debauched genius of the last three generations of desperado rock stars who only descend Mount Olympus to whip hundreds and thousands of acolytes into the fevered frenzy of the converted. That is exactly what Waits does in ACT II. His is the eleven-o'clock number. It's called "Bring Me To Life."

A multi-platinum, bona fide, guaranteed, money-back, indelibly stamped, international top-ten rock anthem originally released by Arkansas' incendiary Grammy Award winning Rock Band, EVANESCENCE, the song is taken hostage by Richard Waits and, if possible, re-energized – and then some.

With parts Axl Rose, Slash, JAmes Brown, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger, Freddy Murcury, Rick James, David Bowie, David Johansen and two of the Sex Pistols, Richard Waits stops the show every night.

Richard E. Waits is a proud member of both the Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. He was born in Buffalo, New York where he started his career in a television commercial with the legendary Ginger Rogers after which left for Broadway, Off-Broadway and the opportunity to tour nationally throughout the United States and Canada. He has garnered rave notices for his acclaimed character portrayals of ‘George' in Uncle Tom's Cabin, ‘Boy Sam' in The Difficulty of Crossing a Field, ‘Horse' in The Full Monty, and ‘Sweet Daddy' in Best of Both Worlds directed by Diane Paulus. His Pre-Broadway productions include First Wives Club, The Scottsboro Boys, Born Blue and A Tale of two Cities. In Concert on Broadway Mr. Waits has been featured in Dreamgirls starring Lillias White, Audra McDonald, Heather Hedley and Norm Lewis; Chess starring Gosh Groban, Adam Pascal and Sutton Foster; Together Again starring Charles Busch and Julie Halston and with Opera Diva Deborah Voigt. Other credits include Ragtime (‘Coalhouse Walker, Jr.') Dreamgirls (‘Curtis' and ‘James Thunder Early'), the Parisian company of La Cage Aux Folles (‘Jacob'), Ain't Misbehavin' (‘Andre'), Swing (‘Everett') the long-running San Francisco production of Beach Blanket Babylon, and the internationally heralded Showboat at Goodspeed Opera House. His solo concert work has sold out in Paris, Frankfurt, Rome and Zurich. On Television he was featured on "Nash Bridges" starring Don Johnson. Mr. Waits has also performed for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the US Embassy in Holland, President Jimmy Carter at the NAACP convention in Miami and for Kofi Annan at the 50th Year Anniversary celebration of the United Nations.
