Driving Miss Daisy will end its run at the Lyric Theatre April 25, 2010.
April 15th - 25th, 2010

This Pulitzer Prize winning play, made famous by the Academy Award winning film starring Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman, takes place in the deep South in 1948. A rich, crusty and sharp-tongued widow of 72, Daisy Werthan has been told by her son that she must now rely on the services of a chauffeur, a thoughtful, soft-spoKen Black man named Hoke. In a series of absorbing, revealing scenes, spanning 25 years and filled with warm humor and glinting insights, the two, despite their mutual differences, grow ever closer to and more dependent on each other and soon realize that they have more in common than they ever believed possible.
