The Mesa Arts Center welcomes Elaine Paige, an actress, recording artist, producer, broadcaster, and major veteran of Broadway on Tuesday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Piper Repertory Theater. Best known for her award-winning performance as Eva Peron in Evita, she has starred in multiple West End productions including Cats, where she originated the role of Grizabella. After having a hit record with the song Memory from the original production of Cats, Elaine Paige went on to star in Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Billy, Chess, Anything Goes, Piaf, Sunset Boulevard, The King and I, and Sweeney Todd (New York City Opera). In Chess, she had yet another record-breaking number one hit with I Know Him So Well, which she performed with Barbara Dickson. Aside from her performances on the West End in New York, she has had concerts worldwide from The White House to The Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China to the Sydney Opera House in Australia. She has recorded 18 solo albums, four of which went multi-Platinum and nine were consecutive Gold. She has been honored with a multitude of awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical, and a Variety Club Special Presentation for 40 Years on Stage. These are only the tip of the iceberg for Elaine Paige in terms of awards, nominations, and recognition for her work in theater.

Though a seasoned veteran, Elaine Paige has not been slowing down yet. In 2005, she completed a sold out tour through the U.K. and Scandinavia as well as a successful concert tour through New Zealand, Australia, and the Far East. In 2007, Elaine Paige returned to the West End stage to perform the title role in The Drowsy Chaperone, for which she received critical acclaim.
