The Orpheum 2013-14 Season Update: JOSEPH to Replace MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER

The Orpheum Theatre announces changes to its spectacular 2013-2014 Broadway Season, sponsored by Harrah's Tunica: FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL will perform September 19 - 25 and the season will now include the JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHICOLOR DREAMCOAT in place of the lesser known musical revue, THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLYOD WEBBER.

"As the old adage goes, there's no business like show business," says Orpheum President and CEO Pat Halloran. "Bringing a Broadway show to Memphis requires a lot of moving parts, and recently the industry has prompted us to make some minor changes that I think our audiences will enjoy."

Due to a routing conflict in the production's schedule, FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL will shift its performance dates by just two days, running Thursday, September 19 through Wednesday, September 25 rather than the usual Tuesdaythrough Sunday performance dates.

"This is a minor adjustment that will have almost no effect on our patrons," says Halloran. "Season Ticket Holders who have opted for Tuesday or Wednesday night performances will simply see the show at the end of the run rather than the beginning."

THE MUSIC OF Andrew Lloyd Webber was originally slated to make its first run at the Orpheum in April of 2014. Recently Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to postpone the national tour of his musical revue, and move forward with a full Broadway-styled musical production.

"We are delighted to bring JOSEPH back to Memphis," Halloran continues. "Our audiences love Sir Andrew. JOSEPH is one of our most requested and beloved Webber shows, so we know patrons will be thrilled with the change."

Because of this change, current Season Ticket Holders will have the opportunity to either replace THE MUSIC OF Andrew Lloyd Webber with JOSEPH at no additional fee, opt for additional tickets to select shows instead of taking JOSEPH, donate the price difference to the Orpheum's capital campaign for its new Centre for Performing Arts and Leadership for a tax deduction, or receive a refund for their tickets to THE MUSIC OF Andrew Lloyd Webber. JOSEPH will run April 22 - 27, 2014, the same performance dates that were previously scheduled for THE MUSIC OF Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The Orpheum's 2013-2014 Broadway Season includes Tony Award winners THE BOOK OF MORMON and War Horse, and will feature FLASHDANCE: THE MUSICAL, BUDDY: THE Buddy Holly STORY, WEST SIDE STORY, SISTER ACT: A DIVINE MUSICAL COMEDY, and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. In addition, the Orpheum will host a special engagement of WICKED, back by "Popular" demand.

Season Tickets are on sale now. New Season Ticket Holders may choose to create their own package starting as low as $112 with a required minimum of only five shows.
