Join us in celebrating the songs of French composer Jacques Brel, including a diverse blend of ballads, tangos, boleros, rock, and classics. Each song tells a story, examining themes of love, war, adventure, broken dreams, being young, growing old, and death...but never forgetting that life, with all its tragedies and complexities, shows us much humor. "Brel's songs are an outcry from the soul, filled with rage, love, cynicism, and a sense of survival." - NY Times.

Directed by Resident Company Member Dave Landis, Jacques Brel IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS stars Resident Company Member Mike Detroit (1776, Into the Woods, The Producers), as well as Associate Company Members Nicole Renee Hale (The Miracle Worker, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Bryan Robinson (Frost/Nixon, Narnia, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940), and Laura Stracko (The Miracle Worker, Narnia, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). The ensemble also features Memphis favorites David Foster (The Santaland Diaries, 1776, The Producers), and Esther Gray (The Light in the Piazza).
