The Orpheum invites the entire Mid-South to experience the new Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education. The come-and-go event will take place between 10:00am and 6:00pm on Saturday, September 12th and will include self-guided tours, performances by Memphis arts organizations, dance classes, food trucks, and a craft studio.

"The Halloran Centre was built specifically to serve the local community, so it was very important to us that students, families, teachers, patrons, and supporters have a chance to experience the Centre through this exciting day of activities," says President and CEO Pat Halloran. "We can't wait to showcase what this beautiful building has to offer."

Performances will take place throughout the day. Guests will enjoy special appearances by Ballet Memphis, Collage Dance Collective, Hattiloo Theatre, Mömandpöp, Music for Aardvarks, New Ballet Ensemble, Opera Memphis, Theatre Memphis, and Voices of the South. In addition to self-guided tours and free abbreviated dance classes, kids will also have access to craft activities and Memphis Fitkids, and guests will have the opportunity to learn more about new Education programming initiatives and upcoming events. There is no charge to attend the Open House, though Memphis food trucks, featuring Sin City Grillers, MEMPOPS, Parker's Italian Ice, and Cariflavor, will be accessible for purchase throughout the day.

The Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education, a vital compliment to the Orpheum Theatre, will be formally dedicated on September 23rd. The Centre's added classroom space, start-of-the-art 361-seat theatre, dance studio, cutting-edge audio/video lab, and rehearsal hall allows the Orpheum to expand its education and community initiatives to better serve individuals of all ages. The Halloran Centre will increase the Orpheum's Education programming capacity and enable the organization to serve as many as 100,000 students, teachers, families, and arts patrons annually.
