The Orpheum Theatre announces its inaugural Backstage Bash on Thursday, August 7th, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Hosted by the Orpheum Crew, the theatre's young professionals group, the Backstage Bash will give guests the "star's view" of the Orpheum by taking place on the theatre's iconic stage.

"The Backstage Bash is unlike any event we've had in the past," said President and CEO Pat Halloran. "We're excited to offer an evening that gives our guests an opportunity to see the theatre from a different perspective."

Attendees will enter through the famous Stage Door on Beale Street and experience life behind the scenes while enjoying live music by The Super 5 on the Orpheum stage, heavy hors d'oeuvres from Central BBQ and Gus' Fried Chicken, a specialty cocktail from Buster's and local beer. The evening will also feature a silent auction and self-guided tours through the Orpheum's celebrated collection of murals painted by Broadway touring casts.

"The Orpheum Crew has been anxious to host a unique, laid-back event that will give Memphians what we love most: great music, great food, and the opportunity to experience something completely new," said Brooke Hamilton, Development Coordinator. "That's exactly what the Backstage Bash will be."

Tickets are on sale now at the Orpheum's official website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, or by calling Brooke Hamilton at 901.529.4288. Proceeds benefit The Orpheum Theatre's mission and community based programming. Ticket levels are as follows:

  • General Admission: $40
  • Orpheum Crew Members: $25
  • VIP Admission: $125
  • Current Season Ticket Holders can purchase buy-one-get-one-free General Admission tickets now through June 29th.

The Backstage Bash is made possible by its partners: Buster's, Central BBQ, Gus' Fried Chicken, and Billy Moore. The Backstage Bash poster art is generously donated by Mr. Moore, and his original painting will be included in the silent auction on the night of the event.

The Orpheum Crew is currently accepting donations for its silent auction as well as event sponsorships. Those interested in making a donation are encouraged to contact Brooke Hamilton at Hamilton@orpheum-memphis.com or 901.529.4288.
