Orpheum Theatre Group Welcomes New Board Members

The Orpheum Theatre Group, the nonprofit organization that operates the historic Orpheum Theatre and the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education, has announced the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors:

Dr. Noelle Chaddock - Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Diversity and Inclusivity, Rhodes College

Terri Lee Freeman - President, National Civil Rights Museum

Dr. Andrea Lewis Miller - President, Lemoyne-Owen College

BrIan Sullivan - Principal/CEO, Sullivan Branding

Robert Cox, Shareholder at Glassman, Wyatt, Tuttle & Cox, P.C. began his term as Chairman of the Board effective July 1, 2017. Current officers include the following members:

Orpheum Theatre Group Board Members serve two year terms and are eligible to serve three consecutive terms.

The mission of the Orpheum Theatre Group is to enhance the communities we serve by utilizing the performing arts to entertain, educate, and enlighten while preserving the historic Orpheum Theatre and the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education. ABOUT THE NEW BOARD MEMBERS:

Dr. Noelle Chaddock joined the Rhodes College administration as associate dean of academic affairs for diversity and inclusivity in 2016. Chaddock is responsible for diversifying faculty and curriculum as well as faculty development and mentoring along with other duties in academic affairs. Chaddock is also a faculty member in the Africana studies program and teaches The Making of Race in the Americas, Examining Mixed Race Identity and Africana Theatre: From Harlem to Hamilton. Previously Chaddock served as chief diversity officer at the State University of New York at Cortland. Chaddock received a PhD in philosophy from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Chaddock is committed to creating space for institutional conversations in the private and public spheres around diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice.

Terri Lee Freeman was appointed president of the National Civil Rights Museum in November 2014. As president, Freeman is responsible for providing strategic leadership in furthering the museum's mission as an educational and cultural institution. Freeman received her bachelor's degree in journalism/communication arts from the University of Dayton and her Master's degree in organizational communications from Howard University. She is married to Dr. Bowyer G. Freeman and is the proud mother of three daughters. She has a record of using her skills and experience to bridge differences between diverse people and finding common ground for the future, as reflected in a number of awards and her board leadership and membership with important nonprofit organizations in the nation's capital.

Andrea Lewis Miller made history when the LeMoyne-Owen College Board of Trustees elected her to serve as the college's 12th president. She took office September 1, 2015, becoming the first woman and the second alumnus to serve as president since the College was founded in 1862. Miller is a Memphis native who also served for six years as provost/executive vice president for Academic and Student Affairs at Southwest Tennessee Community College where she was also responsible for strategic planning and institutional research. Miller has acquired over 12 million dollars in grant and contracts to support research, curriculum development and professional development activities in science and technology. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Cell and Developmental Biology. She received a Post Doctoral Fellowship from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She has spent summers engaged in biomedical research at the Marine Biological Laboratories (MBL), Woods Hole, MA and at Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL), Los Alamos, NM.

Deadlines, discussions and heated debates make Sullivan Branding a whirlwind of activity. Within this cauldron of creativity, BrIan Sullivan is the proverbial calm in the middle of the storm. His unflappable leadership style comes from the perfect combination of an even-keeled personality and a plethora of professional experience. Having worked on both the client and agency sides of the business, he has the knowledge and skills to prove it. On the client side, Brian has held management positions in market research, strategic planning and brand management. On the agency side, he has served as senior vice president and group account supervisor, working on national accounts before co-founding the agency that has grown and evolved into Sullivan Branding.
