Germantown Community Theatre has announced the slate of productions for their 2015-2016 season. The season blends music, theatre for youth, classic literature and raucous fun. Titles include Neil Simon's RUMORS, the movie-turned-musical DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. Memberships for the season range from $60 to $200 and are on sale through the GCT box office at (901) 937.3023. The 2015-2016 season of Germantown Community Theatre is sponsored by the City of Germantown, Tennessee Arts Commission, ArtsMemphis, the GCT Trust and the Germantown Arts Alliance.

All Children's Theatre: INHERIT THE WIND By: Jerome Lawrence & Robert Edwin Lee
July 31-August 9, 2015

Based on the Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925, INHERIT THE WIND is a high intensity legal drama that GCT is proud to present through their All Children's Theatre Program. The play follows Ben Cates as he is put on trial for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution to his high school science class. As the trial unfolds, audiences are led on a search for truth and asked to consider their own limits when it comes to freedom of thought. NOTE: This production will be cast entirely with young actors.

RUMORS By: Neil Simon

You're invited to the craziest dinner party of the season. This farce opens with a seemingly
innocent anniversary party that very quickly becomes a tangle of gunshots, affairs, politicians and, of course, rumors! Written by the modern king of New York comedy, Neil Simon, RUMORS is a stylish farce that will keep you laughing until you finally find out- "Who's in the basement?"

RING OF FIRE: THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH Created by Richard Maltby, Jr. Conceived by William Meade
October 23-November 8, 2015

Any fan of Johnny Cash's music will instantly fall in love with RING OF FIRE. A musical by genre, this toe-tapper is so much more than that. It weaves a generations-long story of home and family- all through the music of the Man in Black. The show's song list includes Cash's "Country Boy," "A Thing Called Love," "Five Feet High and Rising," "Daddy Sang Bass," "Ring of Fire," "I Walk the Line," and "I've Been Everywhere."

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET:A LIVE RADIO PLAY Based on a story by Valentine Davies
December 4-20, 2015

Your family will delight in this 1940's style radio play presented live on the GCT stage. Complete with onstage sound effects and Hollywood starlets, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET is the classic tale we all remember. A department store Santa claims to be the real Kris Kringle. When the matter gets all the way to the New York Supreme Court, the belief of one little girl could be the thing that saves Santa!

LOVE LETTERS By A.R. Gurney

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS Book: Jeffery Lane; Music & Lyrics: David Yazbek

This musical comedy is based on the 1988 film of the same name which starred Michael Caine and Steve Martin. DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS is set in the colorful world of the French Riviera. Master con-artists Lawrence and Freddy challenge each other to a bet. The first one to swindle $50,000 out of an unsuspecting woman, wins. As they both take on the bet, they fall for the same woman, but soon realize she's not your average mark!

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE By Tennessee Williams
April 15- May 1, 2016

One of Tennessee William's most popular plays, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, tells the story of fragile Southern belle, Blanche, who leaves the family plantation house and moves to New Orleans to live with her sister, Stella, and her animalistic husband, Stanley. Once there, she quickly gets a gritty life lesson in the steamy underbelly of 1940s French Quarter life.

I HATE HAMLET By Paul Rudnick
May 20-June 5, 2016

The play's the thing in this wild comedy by Paul Rudnick. Hot, young television star, Andrew Rally, needs to make a big career move. So, he moves to New York where he is offered the role of a lifetime- Hamlet. One big problem: he hates Hamlet. There is no one better to help Andrew decide if he is going to take the part than John Barrymore's ghost, who arrives intoxicated and in full costume in his apartment. Who will win the ultimate actor duel?

All Children's Theatre: DISNEY'S MY SON PINOCCHIO JR Book: David Stern; Music & Lyrics: Stephen Schwartz
June 24-July 3, 2016

DISNEY'S MY SON PINOCCHIO JR is the classic Pinocchio story told from Geppetto's perspective. This musical features the beloved songs "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "I've Got No Strings," alongside a host of new songs by Oscar- and Grammy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz.
