The Thursday, January 23 preview performance of Monty Python's Spamalot at Playhouse on the Square is a food drive for Mid-South Food Bank ( Admission is free for patrons who bring cans of Spam and other non-perishable foods to donate. Patrons must bring four or more items to qualify for free admission.

The performance begins at 8:00 pm. Playhouse on the Square is located at 66 S. Cooper Street in Midtown Memphis. For more information, call the box office at 901-726-4656 or visit

SPAMALOT features book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle. This Tony Award winner for Best Musical and Drama Desk Award winner for Outstanding New Musical is a comedy "lovingly ripped off from" the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. King Arthur, so dubbed when the Lady of the Lake gave him Excalibur, travels England in search of knights for his Round Table who go on a search for the Holy Grail. Featuring musical numbers such as "He Is Not Dead Yet" and "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life".

Monty Python's SPAMALOT runs at Playhouse on the Square, 66 S. Cooper Street, January 24 - February 16, 2014 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays* at 2pm. *No performance on Sunday, February 9 due to the Unified Professional Theatre Auditions.
