Theatrical plays have been stamped out altogether by conservative censors in a not-so-distant future, and a group gathers for a Commitment Talk to celebrate the death of theater and demonstrate its evils by reading excerpts from the contraband play 'Wyoming.' The young readers find themselves swept away by the power of the theatrical experience, reawakening emotions and igniting imaginations long repressed by a society intent on attacking artistic freedom, and in the end, a battle for the very soul of free expression is waged.

Snowlion Repertory Company, known for bringing compelling and relevant new works to the stage, announces the New England premiere of Moral & Political Lessons on 'Wyoming' by New York playwright Vincent Sessa. Given the wildly contentious election season and the multiple challenges to First Amendment rights in our country today, Snowlion Rep has chosen to present this hilarious and moving social satire at the Portland Stage Studio Theater opening tonight, November 14.

Performances of Moral & Political Lessons on 'Wyoming' are as follows:

Friday November 14 at 7:30 pm
Saturday November 15 at 7:30 pm
Sunday November 16 at 7:30 pm
Friday November 21 at 7:30 pm
Saturday November 22 at 7:30 pm
Sunday November 23 at 2:00 pm

Following the Sunday 2:00 pm show on November 23, a talkback with playwright Vincent Sessa will be held, sponsored by the Maine Humanities Council and the Maine Arts Commission.

Performances are at the Portland Stage Studio Theater, 25A Forest Avenue, Portland. Tickets are $17 for all seats, available at www.snowlionrep.org or by calling (207) 518-9305.

The show is directed by Al D'Andrea with lighting design by Iain Odlin, costume design by Desiray Roy, set design by Craig Robinson, and prop design by Joseph Blough. The production stage manager is Vickie Machado. The cast is as follows:
