On Saturday June 30 the staff of Penobscot Theatre will throw their first COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY. The event is to be held at the Bangor Opera House as well as in the parking lot directly next door to the theatre (Union and Main) and will last from Noon-8PM. This is a free event but a $5 donation is encouraged.

The PTC Block Party will feature a number of attractions, including: Outdoor community BBQ, theatrical activities for all ages, tours of the Historic Bangor Opera House, ticket giveaways, a live radio broadcast, a cabaret performance with Christie Robinson and Ben Layman and a screening of the Sundance Award winning film The Puffy Chair with special guests film Director and Actor Mark Duplass and film actress and Mainer, Katie Aselton. All guests are encouraged to stay for a post show Q&A with the visiting artists.

A majority of the parking lot will be filled by local business vendors offering giveaways and sale items. As a Non-Profit theatre PTC takes pride in giving back to Downtown Bangor, which is why they are offering free booth space to any interested local businesses. Participating businesses are encouraged to offer giveaways, discounts and promotional items to the public. There is still plenty of space available and they are welcoming all businesses to set up shop and show the community what they have to offer.

This is a celebration dedicated to Downtown Bangor so please come and show your love for the Queen City and local theatre.
