With this play written through the authors of texts phonies and those of many other contemporary literary circles - the Incohérents, shaggy, Zutistes, Jemenfoustistes and Hydropathes ... - where invented a new laugh, "hénaurme" and "foolish" Jean-Marc Chotteau reawakens times thirty years that ended abruptly with the outbreak of the First World War. Marked by four decades of peace in Europe, by the advent of industrial society with its procession of technical and scientific innovations, but also by a hitherto unprecedented prosperity finance offered by a newly "globalized" - not see any here Parallel - this time was not called "Belle" until much later, when the Aureola nostalgic mirage of hindsight.

The play takes place one evening in June 1914 in an imaginary Scene Coffee heights of Montmartre, the Black Sheep. Three actors will celebrate it, through an anthology of texts as irresistible as each other, the humbug spirit is nonsense and provocation. In the intellectual and artistic tingling of the Paris of the Belle Epoque, these ephemeral literary clubs whose names were claiming their irreverence towards the seriousness of academicism and the good bourgeois taste, saw bloom the talent of many writers, many of which went down in history as Charles Cros, Alfred Jarry or Alphonse Allais.

Among their "literary misdeeds," Half Baked invented a revolutionary theatrical form in view of the time codes: the monologue. Then they did not know they gave birth to a new kind of spectacle which achieved an undeniable success; "The Herring Saur" Charles Cros becoming even twenty years the inevitable concert-cafes and a must in fashionable salons. The genre of the monologue will be exported to the United States soon will become the stand-up, and then reborn in France half a century later with Fernand Reynaud, Raymond Devos and Pierre Desproges and continues today with, among others, Jamel Debbouze or Stéphane De Groodt.
