The Kentucky Center's Fall 2015 Arts Season to Feature David Sedaris & More

The Kentucky Center is offering a wide variety of entertainment this fall, as it enters its 32nd arts season. Fall performances will feature author/humorist David Sedaris, singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens and international renowned dance company Parsons Dance, as well as many others, including orchestras, acrobats and even dancing vegetables. To keep patrons informed, The Kentucky Center will be mailing updates every other month. Patrons can also create a Kentucky Center eClub profile to receive email updates. In addition, The Kentucky Center recently launched a new, responsive website, which provides a better online experience for site visitors across multiple devices. The Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of a time-honored tradition that began more than 25 centuries ago. They are recognized throughout the United States and abroad as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company of today.

Ben Sollee and Mother Falcon - The Fall Migration

Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015 at 7 p.m.

Ben Sollee is a Kentucky-born cellist, singer-songwriter and composer. Ben is known for his innovative playing style, genre-blending songwriting, electrifying performances, political activism and wide appeal. Mother Falcon is an indie symphonic rock band from Austin, Texas, known for their wide-ranging instrumentation and collaborative songwriting.

Parsons Dance, an internationally renowned contemporary dance company based in New York City, presents uplifting, family-friendly contemporary dance to audiences around the world. Parsons Dance maintains a repertory of works by David Parsons, as well as commissions by emerging choreographers and collaborations with some of the greatest artists of our time, including Steely Dan, Dave Matthews, Milton Nascimento, Annie Leibovitz and Donna Karan.

David Sedaris's humor combines stories from his peculiar childhood in North Carolina, his bizarre career paths, and his move with his lover to France. His wickedly witty observations of the ordinarily bizarre are always sure to deliver insights and laughs. David Sedaris' show at Whitney Hall offers a unique opportunity to see the best-selling author and humorist in an intimate setting. Sedaris will offer selections of all-new readings and recollections, as well as a Q&A session and post-show book signing.

Straight No Chaser - The New Old Fashioned Tour

Sufjan Stevens is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer known for a wild range of albums, from the lush pop music of The Age of Adz to the experimental noise of Enjoy Your Rabbit. One dollar of each ticket sold will benefit a charity through the organization Plus One.
