Bluegrass band Punch Brothers, featuring Chris Thile (mandolin), Gabe Witcher (fiddle/violin), Noam Pikelny (banjo), Chris Eldridge (guitar), and Paul Kowert (bass), are now being referred to as a "string-band version of Radiohead," with the release of their new album, Who's Feeling Young Now?

The Washington Post said of the new album: "The music conjures seminal bluegrass traditions one moment and thoroughly modern pop, rock and chamber folk overtures the next, leaving ample space for fleet-fingered flights and exhilarating thrust."

Chris Thile, a 2012 MacArthur Fellow and former member of Nickel Creek, is credited with radically changing the perception of the mandolin, elevating it beyond folk and bluegrass to the sophisticated realms of jazz improvisation and classical performance.

Come out and see Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile with special guest Minton Sparks at the Brown Theater today, February 5th.
