The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Elizabeth Doran, Executive Director) announces MEET THE CHAIRS, an invitation only event to be held Monday, September 15 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in celebration of new Board Chair David DiCristofaro, new Vice-Chair Brad King, and the theatre's long anticipated new chairs and carpeting.

Says Executive Director Elizabeth Doran, "We are thrilled to be replacing well worn and terribly uncomfortable chairs and carpeting. The excitement around this effort was reflected in the extraordinary response to our recent SAVE OUR BUTTS campaign, which represented the public phase of a fundraising push to complete the project. The Playhouse community rallied with hundreds of contributions ranging from $10.00 to $125,000.00. No gift to The Playhouse is too small - or too big - because together, they make exciting things happen."

Simultaneously, the 2014-2015 season opens this month with new Board leadership. David DiCristofaro, President of Wells Fargo is stepping in as Board Chair and Brad King of Epiphany Entertainment serving as Vice Chair. "MEET THE CHAIRS" is, thus, a triple celebration.

Schedule is as follows:

6:30 p.m. Event begins in the Engemann Family Courtyard with cuisine provided by
Pasadena's Trattoria Neopolis
7:00 p.m. Guests enter the theatre for the seats and carpet reveal
7:15 p.m. Presentation from the Mainstage of The Pasadena Playhouse
7:30 p.m. Impro Theatre will perform The Twilight Zone Unscripted
8:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to stay for sweet treats

The "MEET THE CHAIRS" event is generously sponsored by Wells Fargo.

Guests will be treated to a performance by Impro Theatre, representing a preview of their presentation of The Twilight Zone Unscripted, which is scheduled in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre in December 2014. Impro Theatre creates completely improvised, full-length plays in the styles of the world's greatest playwrights, authors and composers. With no pre-planning or prepared scenarios, the performers combine verbal dexterity and dynamic physicality to bring character and plot to life in an instant, making each Impro Theatre show unique and unlike any other theatrical experience.
