Byway Entertainment presents Richard Byford's world premiere solo show The Heart of a Gypsy Troubadour, tonight, February 13 through April 9, 2015, as part of Whitefire Theatre's SOLOFEST 2015. Opening weekend is tonight, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th. The play continues Thursday evenings, March 5th through April 9th - with all shows at 8:00pm.

Some shows take months to write, others years -- The Heart of a Gypsy Troubadour is the product of an entire lifetime. Performer Richard Byford, the singer and songwriter (including his Grammy contender "Touched by the Hands of an Angel"), has distilled his many adventures across Europe and America, his battle with cancer, and the motley crew of characters he has encountered over the years into a solo performance like no other. Performances of his many original songs are a highlight of this heartfelt and very personal look at a life well-lived.

Emmy Award-winning actress, Lindsay Wagner, served as production consultant in the development of this long awaited dream.

As an actor/writer/singer/songwriter Richard started his musical journey in the folk music era of the 60s and honed his craft singing in English & European folk clubs, theatres and pubs. He has opened for many of the greats including Tom Paxton, Paul Simon, Sandy Denny, John Denver and Burt Jansch. Richard is a renaissance man for all time - a singer/songwriter with top 10 records in several countries; an actor (graduating from the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art); part of the international entertainment duo Richard and Mary for over 40 years; a well-known public speaker; a special events producer and a radio talk-show host of "On The Village Green". He has also been a rally car driver and rodeo bull rider. Born in England and now living in California, Richard has traveled and performed across America and Canada and throughout Europe, South America, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Russia.
