Santa Susana Performing Arts Magnet High School's SHREK THE MUSICAL Begins Tonight

Santa Susana Performing Arts Magnet High School in Simi Valley is currently in rehearsal for SHREK THE MUSICAL, which will run in their new 450-seat performing arts center for six performances over two weekends, April 24-25 and May 1-2, 2015.

Graduating senior Sara Gilbert stars as 'Fiona' -- she has performed in many local theatre productions most recently appeared in SPRING AWAKENING. Grant Measures will play 'Shrek'. He is a junior with many stage and screen credits and just starred in HAIRSPRAY at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, where he was one of only two minors in the cast.

Kyle Green, also a junior, will play 'Donkey', sophomore Nico Amato will play 'Farquaad' and senior Aly Valles will be playing 'Dragon'. Also appearing as 'Dragon' are junior Danielle Williamson and sophomore Antonia Vivino, sister to the talented Donna and Natalia Vivino. There is also an incredible ensemble cast.

Located in Ventura County, just over the border from LA County, Santa Susana Performing Arts Magnet High School continues to produce top notch musical theatre productions. Acceptance into their musical theatre class is by audition only and the class is daily from 3pm to 5pm so it contains only the most dedicated students.

Amazing performers are leaving the school with some going right to Broadway and many auditioning into the top Musical Theatre University Programs across the U.S. SSHS has garnered a "Best Actress" award in 2013 at the Jerry Herman Awards held in Hollywood, Calif, The winner was Natalia Vivino, whose sister is broadway star Donna Vivino.
