On the heels of their 'Best of Hollywood Fringe' Award for their sold-out headlining performances at the Outlaugh Comedy Festival/Hollywood Fringe Festival, STREEP TEASE: AN EVENING OF Meryl Streep MONOLOGUES, performed by an all-male cast returns for an extended run tonight, Aug. 4 through Aug. 25 at Theatre Asylum, announced by the show's creator & co-Executive Producer Roy Cruz. A celebratory, wicked, yeT Loving satire of scenes from the most unforgettable movies from one of our greatest contemporary actresses, STREEP TEASE is performed by an ensemble cast.

An homage to one of our most popular and enduring actresses, Meryl Streep's prodigious body of film work serves as the inspiration and fascination for STREEP TEASE, an all-male cast's re-interpretationof some of the revered actresses' most iconic scenes. In addition to THE IRON LADY, included are monologues from THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, OUT OF AFRICA, SILKWOOD, THE FRENCH LIEUTENANT'S WOMAN, DOUBT, and THE STILL OF THE NIGHT, among others. Though drawn from the dramatic and comedic 'Canon of Cinema Streep,' all of the scenes evolve into a hilarious, outlandish, kooky and sometimes campy romp through Streep's film repertoire.

Rave reviews across the board from theater critics & theater goers alike have greeted STREEP TEASE since its inception.  During its year and a half sold out run at the Bang Improv Theater and a special engagementin New York City at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, STREEP TEASE has received critical acclaim from the LA Times, the LA Weekly and Daily Variety.  Original and outrageously funny to the delight of audiences in LA & NYC ,the show has developed a life of its own.  "With the release of Meryl Streep's latest film THE IRON LADY, in which she portrays Britain's former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, we have been given a wealth of new riches, providing fresh new material and inspiration for the show," says Cruz.  "Over the last few months, I've been deluged by requests from the show's fans as well as friends and professionals in the industry to keep the show running."

Creator/co-executive producer Roy Cruz, born and raised in the Philippines, is a stand up comedian/actor.  Among his recent work in television and film: KEISHA VS. GEISHA, a short film he wrote and produced that screened at the Slamdance Film Festival; and his comedy performance on WISECRACK, a Logo TV show.  He has headlined at the Maui Cultural Center, Lake Tahoe Winterfest, Salt Lake City's Comedy 101 and at this year's Outlaugh GLBT Comedy Festival (as well as in '05, '06 & '09).
