Raw, physical, erotic, harrowing, and transcendent. On June 7, 9, 17, 18, and 22, RedSoil Theater Company will perform two haunting stories from Japan and Rwanda, Yukio Mishima's Hanjo and an adaptation of Immaculée Ilibagiza's book Left to Tell. Hanjo/Left to Tell marks RedSoil Theater Company's debut production and will be performed as apart of the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival at the Fringe Blackbox at NOTE.

RedSoil Theater Company presents this double bill performance that reveals truth through beautiful blend of words and movement. Hanjo/Left to Tell tells the stories of two women, one who waits for her lover and another for her killer.

Hanjo is a story of waiting as an active choice and tells the tragic yet beautiful story of a woman who separated from her lover waits for him to return. But, how long can she wait for someone that may never come? Left to Tell is the true story of a woman's survival of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Adapted from a book of the same name by RedSoil Theater Company's Artistic Director and Hanjo/Left to Tell Director, Eriko Azuma, Left to Tell is a story of forgiveness. "Forgiveness is not always for the ones who've done you wrong. Sometimes you forgive for yourself", says Eriko Azuma.

Performances are Thursday, June 7 at 8:30PM Saturday, June 9 at 6:30PM Sunday, June 17 at 4:00PM Monday, June 18 at 8:30PM Friday, June 22 at 5:00PM. Tickets are Pre-sale: $10 and At the door: $12, with Student/Senior: $8. Running time is one hour.
